Indoor Farmer’s Market: St.
John’s/St. Ann’s Outreach Center recognizes that in low-income communities
it is very hard to find affordable fresh fruits and vegetables. This
in turn forces people primarily to eat processed foods, which can be very
detrimental to the health of the community. The Center has determined
that there is a clear need in the South End for fresh produce on a regular
basis. Every Monday and Thursday between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00
P.M., the Indoor Farmer’s Market provides produce free of charge at the Center. The fruits and vegetables are laid out and clients are free to “shop” for whatever they like (in moderation). Clients must first show their IDs at the reception desk to enter, but they do not need to be registered to our Food Pantry. Hours
Monday and Thursday 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. ID IS REQUIRED |
