Clothes Closet
St. John’s/St. Ann’s Outreach Center recognizes that clothing is a communicator
of information during social interaction and an aid in the establishment of
self-identity. Unfortunately, many low-income or homeless residents
do not have the means to purchase new clothing.
The Clothes Closet is an informal operation for the collection and distribution
of clean, usable clothing to South End individuals. The Center places
donated clothing in wardrobes in the reception room where individuals are
free to take what they need. Individuals with immediate needs that the
Center cannot meet are referred to other organizations. Donated books
and household items are also available in the reception room. There
is no eligibility requirement for the Clothes Closet and all of our neighbors
are welcome.
Donations are welcome. However because space is limited, please call
ahead to be sure there is a current need for the articles you intend to donate.
